Julia Sweeney and Jill Sobule, a duo of exceptional talent, wit and good spirits, wrap up the 2009-2010 Eccles Center Season with a hearty dose of laughter on Saturday, April 17. Combining music with storytelling The Jill & Julia Show is part comedy, part social commentary – all wrapped up in a thoroughly entertaining package.
Jill Sobule, returning to Park City after stealing the show at the final concert of PCPAF’s summer series, isn't just another singer-songwriter with catchy tunes and smart lyrics; she's one of the more insightful satirists of our age. Each of her fanciful songs captures an issue or irony, an emotion or epiphany that helps us understand what it's like to live now.
As a solo performer, comic actor Julia Sweeney explores love, cancer, family and faith. Her latest solo show and CD, 'Letting Go of God,' is about the "quest for something I could really believe in" -- which turns out to be no God at all. Sweeney returns to the Eccles Center stage as a follow-up to her much-heralded, sold-out show in December 2007.
With a show that oozes satire and wit, Jill Sobule and Julia Sweeney deliver double the entertainment in an extraordinary show. It’s comedy. It’s music. It’s a light-hearted, yet relevant, way to wrap up another diverse, technicolored season at The Eccles Center. Perfect for an evening out with your grown-up friends.
